Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease that can damage the optic nerve and cause permanent vision loss. It is commonly described as early, moderate, and advanced stages, based mainly on the extent of optic nerve damage and visual field loss. In the early stage, there may be little or no noticeable vision change.
